DONATIONS
To better serve the needs of the community, we rely on contributions/donations from the generosity of different individuals.
October 2007: The donation
PCDI received 28 computers and various computer ancillaries (printers, scanners, books etc) from donors in the UK. The equipment has been used to furnish the centre.
In July 2007, a project to raise IT equipment for PCDI through the donations from individuals and companies was undertaken. For logistical reasons the scope of the project was confined to London. The equipment donated is as follows:
- Used Computers: 28
- Monitors: 20
- Keyboards: 24
- Printers/scanners/copiers:8
- CD/DVD/Floppy Drives: 10
- Books
- Misc: hubs, adaptors, access points, ethernet cards, switches and mice
The goods will be shipped during August and is expected to arrive in Cameroon for September.
PCDI would like to thank all donors for their generosity and also all individuals who assisted in the packing, transportation, preparation and documentation for their support. We could not have completed this task without all your help. (cf. http://palamakumbura.com)
Prior to the arrival of the shipment, the equipment at the centre was 5th/6th generation. The day to day functioning of the centre was one of technical hardship. Creating a clean photocopy or print required considerable amount of work.
